After Minty Bliss Balls

As promised here is a separate post for my After Minty Bliss Balls.

This were the first ever recipe I used with dōTERRA essential oils. The actual recipe I created years ago before I was using essential oils, and I used to use peppermint essence.  Remember, not all essential oils can be taken internally, so don’t rush off to your local health food store or chemist and buy a bottle of peppermint essential oil as it may contain other ingredients that make it harmful to consume.

They taste like after dinner mint chocolates. As a child growing up in the 70s when my parents had guests over we always had a box of after dinner mints in the fridge, and if us kids were lucky, we always got one or two. These bliss balls remind me of those after dinner mints!

Author: Tracey Francis of Essential Olie

  • 9 Medjool dates (with pit removed)
  • ½ teaspoon Unhulled Tahini (I use macro wholefoods brand from Woolworths)
  • 1 cup activated almonds (soaked in water with a sprinkle of salt overnight then drained)
  • 5 Tablespoons Raw Cacao powder
  • 1½ teaspoon of Vanilla powder or essence
  • 2 Tablespoon Water
  • 6 drops dōTERRA peppermint essential oil
  • Brown Rice Malt Syrup, Raw Honey, Maple Syrup or any other type of sweetener you prefer (to taste) – I use approximate 1-2 Tablespoons
  • Dessicated Coconut (I use a sulphite and preservative free dessicated coconut)

  1. Using a food processor blend dates, tahini, almonds, raw cacao, vanilla powder, water and brown rice malt syrup til it achieves the consistency you like. I like it with small chunks of almonds still visible so it looks like a crunchy peanut butter consistency.
  2. Put dessicated coconut on a plate (just start with a small amount so you don’t waste too much)
  3. Using a small ice cream scooper and your hands create a ball – this is where it starts to get messy
  4. Roll ball in dessicated coconut
  5. Repeat til all mixture is used up
  6. Keep in refridgerator (you can also freeze them)
