Toilet Fizzies

I love cleaning my house with essential oils, as we are not inhaling nasty chemicals and are caring for the environment by not flushing chemicals into our precious waterways.

It always grosses me out when I think of the chemicals that are flushed into our waterways.

Other than the obvious physical and environmental reasons, cleaning our home with essential oils has literally saved us thousands in money on cleaning products.  The money I have saved from not products in the cleaning and beauty aisles at the supermarket pays for our monthly essential oil order.

For this, I like to use a disc shaped silicone mould aka cupcake silicone mould that I picked up from BigW a few years ago.  I simply blend in my thermomix all of the ingredients together, then press the mix firmly into the mould, and let it set for 24 hours in a zip lock bag.  I then store them in a sealed glass jar that I brought from Ikea.

My added tip!

I often also drop a fizzie into each of our toilets when I’m on my way to bed, then in the morning, swish with a toilet brush then flush.  The kids and Glenn know that if they get up to use the toilet they need to swish with a toilet brush then flush, before they use the toilet.  It’s too easy, and the best part is that we always have clean toilets.
